Update: Deputies find man sought after Spring Hill stabbing
SPRING HILL —
The Hernando County Sheriff’s Office has taken into custody a man wanted for information regarding a stabbing.
Deputies were looking for Ian Michael Brunker, 29, as part of an investigation into a stabbing in the 7400 block of Pond Circle in Spring Hill early Thursday morning.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to a traffic crash in the area of Pinehurst Drive and Pond Circle at 3:30 a.m. Upon arrival, deputies located an abandoned crashed vehicle.
An investigation led deputies to a person inside another vehicle who was the victim of a stabbing. That person was taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Authorities began looking for Brunker, who had an active warrant out for his arrest that was unrelated to the stabbing. They found him at a Spring Hill home on Thursday afternoon and took him into custody.
Deputies say that while they were interviewing him, Rebecca Brunker battered a person who was nearby. She was immediately taken into custody. Deputies say they don’t know what or if any relationship exists between Ian Brunker and Rebecca Brunker.
The investigation continues. More charges may be possible.
