Argosy University Federal Student Aid (Title IV) Changes

Federal Student Aid (Title IV) Credit Balances (Effective 7/1/2016)
Date:
06/29/2016
Message:
Dear Student,Based on new Federal regulations issued by the U.S. Department of Education, effective 7/1/2016, Argosy University will no longer be holding Federal Title IV credit balances to pay for future institutional charges within the loan period or award year for other Federal Student Aid (Title IV), even if prior authorization was previously provided by you.

A Federal Title IV credit balance occurs if and when the Federal Title IV funds applied to your account exceed the amount of tuition, fees, room and board (where contracted with the Institution), and other educationally related institutional charges assessed by Argosy University within the loan period or award year for other Federal Student Aid (Title IV).

Federal Title IV funds include the following: Federal Direct Loans (Subsidized, Unsubsidized, Parent PLUS, and Grad PLUS), Federal Perkins Loan, Federal Pell Grant, and Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG).

If a Federal Student Aid (Title IV) credit balance is created or occurs on your student account, Argosy University will issue the credit balance directly to you using the stipend method you selected. Credit balances are paid no later than fourteen (14) calendar days after the first day of class (if the credit balance occurred before the first day of class) or fourteen (14) calendar days of the date the Federal Title IV credit balance is created on your student account.

If you have any questions regarding credit balances or your financial payment plan, please contact the Student Financial Services department.
