Stevie J, Accompanied By His Children In Court, Ordered To Rehab Not Prison, For Violations Related to Child Support

Stevie J has been ordered by a federal judge in New York to a 30-day in-patient rehab facility for violating the terms of his probation for failing to pay child support. Stevie admitted to using cocaine on two occasions this year, and as a condition of his situation, he is required to pass routine drug tests. Once Stevie’s rehab is complete, he will be under GPS-monitored house arrest and will have to participate in “intense” out-patient treatment.
As he left court in Manhattan, Stevie spoke to reporters, telling them what he thinks of his house arrest. “I think its a bunch of bulls—. Of course I’m not OK with it, but it’s more or less like confinement to home for what? ’Cause I’m a black tax paying citizen taking care of all his kids?”
The situation stems from the fact that the court has found Stevie negligent for over $1 million in overdue child support payments since 1999 for two of his children.
Stevie appeared in good spirits, however, after leaving the court, posing for a photo with daughter Sade.

He wrote “My princess surprised at court today. Guess that’s why the judge let me walk, God is great! I love my children more than I love myself.”
Bossip also reports that Stevie’s son, Little Stevie, was present as well, and the elder Jordan told them “I’m happy that my kids won’t let this case affect our relationship. They were with me all weekend, with their mom. We enjoyed the Puffy show, we all stayed in the hotel, chilled out as a family. Whatever it is, let the courts do what they have to do, but just let me come out the victor that I am.” Looks like Stevie celebrated with his son last night, too:

We’re wishing the best for the entire Jordan fam.
In the clip below, from season four of Love & Hip Hop Atlanta, Faith Evans visited Stevie during a previous stint in rehab to discuss his sobriety, Joseline’s sobriety, and their future.
