Officials said Alexander Perez, 14, is charged with first-degree murder in the death of Robert Walker, 81.
The Pasco County Sheriff’s Office said Walker was severely beaten and robbed on September 23 around 2:15 a.m.
Investigators say Perez walked up to Walker, who was sitting on his front porch at his home in Holiday, and hit him in the face multiple times.
Perez then pushed Walker into his home and continued to batter him, according to the report. Perez stole Walker’s wallet and pants, official say, before fleeing the scene.
Perez was arrested and originally charged with home invasion robbery of Walker.
Walker died later that day as a result of his injuries. The medical examiner ruled his death a homicide due to blunt force trauma.
